MMM #1: Mindset

Good morning family. I pray this morning greets you with love, light and life, peace, balance and blessings. Today’s Monday Morning Message is about Mindset.

Mindset is defined as: “the established set of attitudes held by someone.” I hope the first thing that came to your mind when you read that definition was, Where does one develop a set of attitudes? The asking of this question would let me know that you are on the right track. If you are a thinking person, then you should analyze this definition by asking yourself, What are my established set of attitudes, and where did they come from? If you are one who wants to reach the greatest possibilities this life has to offer, then you must self analyze, and you must be honest. I bet you don't know where or when you developed your attitudes, values and expectations. It's time you explored the origin of the thoughts you hold so dear.

The established set of attitudes held by any one individual or group of individuals can be given to you, or you can choose them for yourself. Most of us have an established set of attitudes that have been taught to us by our parents, friends, community, environment and society. We’ve adopted some from what we’ve seen on TV or read in books. But most of us don’t actively choose to set our mind on anything. Yet, the act of setting our mind is what determines our focus at any point of time. If our mind is set on victory over the trials and tribulations that we are facing, then our actions, and our reactions will work toward us being victorious. If we find ourselves focusing on what someone has done to us, or if we get angry because of a specific situation, it’s because we haven’t set our mind on a greater and higher energy/frequency/power/or goal. Studies show that those who focus on optimistic outcomes of surgery and disease, have a greater chance at survival and healing. Have you ever asked yourself, "what is my mind set on?

You can choose your mindset. You can choose to set it high, or set it low. You can choose to focus on the illusions that you see with your eyes, or feel with your ego. Or you can choose to set your mind on the beauty, glory, and power of the intangible truth you know and feel like love, peace, grace and mercy. Note: If you let any other entity beside yourself, set your mind, that entity will also control your mind, i.e. tv, news, politicians, abusive partners etc… If you wonder why you get so angry, then it’s time you set your mind on peace. If you’re easily frustrated, learn to set your mind on joy and triumph.

So my questions for you are: Do you practice setting your mind? Apart of being alive, is being aware and present in every moment. What is your mind set on today? Right now? Even more important, Have you set your mind? If you haven’t set your mind, then your mind is open to be set on anything that comes your way. Easily shifted to whatever is around you. Easily distracted moment to moment. Unfocused.

Today, My mind is set on love, peace, truth and understanding. We should all set our mind on the light of our higher power, whether that manifests itself as victory, faith, or fulfilment. What will you set your mind on today.
